What We Believe

We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 We believe in one God who created everything and everyone. We believe God is the ruler of the universe and created us in his image, to know him and serve him and that we will eventually have to account for our lives. Because sin entered the world when we rebelled against God, God sent his son, Jesus. Fully God and fully man, Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, teaching us about perfect love. Taking on himself the judgment we deserve, Jesus died on the cross as a substitute for God’s people. After three days, he rose from the grave and now reigns in heaven. If we believe and trust only in Jesus, receive his Spirit, repent of our sins, and live for the glory of God, we find forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life. Regardless of circumstances, we believe everyone is deserving of respect and dignity, to be given opportunities to become all they have been created to be. We believe that in helping others to realize their full potential, education is paramount, along with the knowledge of their identity in Christ. With this as our focus, our short term goal is to encourage the best quality of education, academically and spiritually, for those we serve; and our long term goal is to develop within the individuals whom we serve a love of learning as they deepen their faith, growing to make a positive contribution to their community and as a result, to their country. We believe an effective approach in representing the grace that comes through the gospel is by being present and walking alongside those we are serving, as well as by providing opportunities for others within our sphere of influence to respond to specific needs in various ways. “Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.” Martin Luther King, Jr. 2014-HOW-Winter-0222-0897-WEB2
